Weird miss...

Okay, first off, this miss is somewhat erratic... it misses pretty badly, usually when I make a quick throttle change. It also is more common in low-rom conditions. For example, if I am crusing at 1500 in 1'st gear, and I snap the gas, it's almost as if the motor shuts off for a second before the power comes on. It seems almost like the spark is blowing out or something...

This all started one day after I regretably let my boss heat up my slicks in my car. He did a monster burnout, way beyond redundant, slamming my MSD Digital 6+ spark rev limiter at 6100 rpm for at least 20-30 seconds. I was furious when he came back. The guy is a freaking ******* who can't drive worth a crap, but I'm even more of an *** for thinking he would merely "heat up my slicks". Anyway, after that day the car felt like it was a bit sluggish. It was still fast, just not neck-snapping like it was when I replaced all the ignition stuff. It had new plugs, new wires, new opti, new MSD coil, and a new MSD Digital 6 at the time.

Now I have heard that CD ignitions can hurt an opti. Is it possible that the miss I'm having and is related to that incident. The car never felt as strong after that day... the funny thing is, I sold my MSD to go for a delteq but in the meantime I'm running a completely stock ignition. The miss still happens, but it's a lot less violent than when I had the digital 6 hooked up.

Anybody ever experience anything similar? Is this is an opti/spark issue? I'm upgrading to a delteq within the next couple weeks but I want your guys' insight.

Re: Weird miss...

sounds like a wire or plug fouling out
