ok....this is what happens....wide open throttle from 4000-7000rpm my car pops, and power surges alot. if i only press about 70% throttle its fine through the rpm range. it only pops and surges under load. I can rev it up all day no problem.

replaced the coil

opti is in ok condition.....it got wet...but i opened it up and replaced the cap because the contacts were corroded and broken.

wires are brand new and not arcing.

7 out of 8 plugs are new also


any ideas?

 

how did the opti get wet? more then likely thats the problem there. its not getting proper spark at full throttle. was the water pump leaking?

 

yep...i hooked up the optis vent tube to a air compressor and blew high pressure air threw it....about 2oz of water came out.
