I was just wondering if anyone knows the differences in weight between the Formula and a Trans Am. I figure that the TA would weigh a bit more due to different front and rear fascias and the spoiler. Thanx

I think it's about 50lbs.

 

not to mention the leather and traction control and electric seats and all that crap.

 

Well the formula that i am working on buying has leather seats, but does not have traction control. But thanks yall

It's actually closer to over 100#... Adding the GFX, high-rise wing, different rear-bumper, and longer front bumper...

but it's really varies car to car depending on options.

 

How do you figure? I cant imagine either bumper weighing signifigantly more than the Firebird ones. Maybe 5lbs each. The GFX dont weigh much either, maybe 10lbs each. The spoiler which everyone assumes is soo heavy is actually just hollow plastic. Its only ~15lbs but considering the Formulas have a spoiler too the actual difference between the two is minimal.

Overall I'd say at most a TA is ~50lbs heavier than an comparably optioned Formula/Z28.

 

My T/A has leather but not power seats or Traction Control. Trans Ams dont always come with power seats, at least the older ones (93-95) dont.
