Question Car died on highway

My girlfriend was driving the LT1 about 75 mph and says it just stumbled for a second then died and when she pulled over it wouldn't start.... I have checked fuel pressure and all the fuses. while o the side of the highway i tried checking for spark and it zapped me so i am assuming the opti is still working... It is home now so i just went out to double check the spark but the battery is too low from trying to crank it. when we do try to start it it back fires thru the intake.... anyone have any clues!?
Thanks in advance
Chris

I had the exact same problem. I was driving on the highway and when i got on the gas the car just turned off. It ended up being the ignition module. The ignition switch could also be the cause of it. Hope this helps. Been stuck on side of highway before.

More than likely its your coil. Replace the coil and see what happens, thats probably it though.

Make sure the connection from the opti to the ignition coil is good. It happeren to me and the car wouldnt start. I took of the wire and put it back on tight and the car started.
