Question Weight of car?

Does anyone know how approximately much my Z weighs? (1995 Convertible)

How do you find it using the GVWR?

I'm not 100% but the GVRW is the weight with 4 passengers and a full tank of gas. And I think a full tank would weigh at least 50-75 lbs and they weigh a person at about 150 lbs. Search and you'll find a better answer then I gave you. Or just find a truck scale and weigh it. HTH

when i had my 97 t-top z dyno'd, it weighed in at 3650lbs with out me in the car...also, convertable are 300 lbs heavier due to more bracing,,, so ur looking at 3950 lbs w/o u in it.

Damnit man, you and your comments with no factual backing... go take a look at what a stock convertable Z28 weighs... 1995 model was...

Option weights for 1995 models
The following weights were taken from the 1995 MVMA specs. (All weights in pounds). Thanks to Dave Emanuel (DFE1@aol.com).

Curb Weight Shipping Weight
Camaro coupe 3251 3171
Camaro convertible 3342 3262
Z/28 coupe 3390 3310
Z/28 convertible 3480 3400

3650lbs without you in the car is a lot of weight, maybe you have too much crap in there.

What does your 285hp have to do with the cars weight... scales can be off you know, they do need to be recalculated... just like the truck scales I drive over every other day or so.

I hope you don't want me to believe that over the years your car gains weight just as it loses HP from use right?

my fully loaded 96 z28 (leather, power everything) weighes 3685 with me in it. so, add in the extra weight of a convert and i would say anywhere from 3700-3800?

Cool

I didn't know this would be such a debate...I e-mailed Chevrolet and maybe they can tell me what my vehicle weighs...Here's what I do know: a LS1 with Coupe weighs 3,300+ lbs. I read this directly from a Firebird brochure from GM. An LT1 engine is 10% heavier than a LS1 engine-that's the only difference in their weight, I believe. I'm not sure how much the engine's weigh, but the weight difference is probably no more than 50 lbs. There is no way my convertible ways 600 more lbs than that (3,900)! They do add a lot of bracing, but not that much. I estimate it to weigh around 3,5000-3,600 lbs. (with no-one in car), but I'll let you guys know what GM says....

My GVWR is 4,375...this includes 4 or 5 passengers (not sure what standard weight they use) and a full tank of gas, and probably an extra 100-150 lbs for junk...this is the maximum load the vehicle is supposed to operate on

I had my car weighed about 2 months ago at a truck weightmaster. Its a 96z with t tops, at the moment i had 1/2 a tank. With me in there and with my 100lbs stereo system it was 3800. I weigh 230 so car should be around 3500 or so

You must have some serious weight reduction because my t-top car without me weighs 3440 and that was probably with between a half tank and three quarters of a tank....
