Lobe lift is stock but I believe the TRUE lift is higher. Would also like to know what one idles at. Have also heard of spending $1500 on a valvejob, which brings up a question of wether such a valvejob would survive on the street. Believe most run aftermarket management to get well beyond the 7200rpm rev limit too.

We port heads and run more lift in our slow street cars because that is how you make power for a STREET car.

We can't get away with 3 quarts of oil in the sump and a pint in the rear or any number of other things stock eliminator cars do to maximize efficiency.

That article will not load right for me so I can't read but a few sentences but I will agree most folks do not realize the potential of stock heads or stock castings as a platform for porting. When I look at results with ported heads I find some of the ported stockers much more impressive than what guys are doing with aftermarket and ported aftermarket castings.

Yes they do throw the valve open and it would not last long on the street.

There is Nothing realy "Stock" about those classes I just love when every says things about them and yet when you dig in there is much more then meets the eye

You sure do not see many of them going into the nines with full factory interior and NHRA safety with a heater and A/C
