Exclamation Way overheating please help...

so i have figured out my idle problem...but i was driving my car home and the last 3 miles it was up in the 230-260 temp range.....so after getting home, my engine was spewing smoke out and you could hear like a sizzle sound....i know its cause of my radiator but could it be a hose or something else?

oh yeah, and now i have a 1 and a half mile track down the road of coolant....

Find out where the coolant was coming from first, ask questions later.

By spewing out smoke do you mean out the tailpipes or under the hood?

If you poured a 1.5 mile track of coolant down the road, it should not be too hard to look under the car and around the engine to see where its pouring out. Check the radiator level. If its empty, fill it up with water temporarily, and warm it up to the point where the pressure builds high enough to blow the coolant out of the broken hose, cracked radiator, water pump or some part of the engine.

OK.... this is like pulling teeth. WHERE under the hood.... there's a lot of real estate there.

Sorry... the front passenger side of the engine by the alternator.
I took a look and the coolant is dripping steadily, mostly off of the drainage valve at the bottom right of the radiator.

I looked for other places it was leaking, and found none....but there was coolant over front of the engine....

Did you try filling the radiator with water, letting it heat up to build pressure, and looking for leaks? Its probably going to spray out. Cover the Opti before you start it up.

Then you should be able to see where its leaking out

Maybe it was getting splashed over the front of the motor by the belt.

Did you try closing the radiator drain valve?

Did you look at the coolant level sensor, to see if coolant is leaking out there? It would run down the side of the radiator to the drain.

Did you make sure the overflow hose from the radiator fill neck to the coolant reservoir was installed? That would drip down the side of the radiator to the drain.

Did you check for a crack in the passenger side radiator end tank? That would drip down the side of the radiator to the drain?

Did you check for a hole in the hoses that connects to the passenger side end tank? A leak in one of them would probably drip down on the drain valve.
