I wanted to get a meizere really bad but I couldn't find one for much less than $170 which is more than I wanted to pay at the time. So I just went to the local Napa dealer and got a stock replacement for $86 bucks gaskets and everything. Had it on the care for almost two years now, not a single problem.

If you can afford an electric one go for IMO CSI is a better pump becuse you don't have to cut the fan shroud but you do need to notch the pump housing. They were the cheaper one but the price just went up to 170.00. The benefits would be a little more horse power somewhere between 5 and 10 and it's easier to bleed the system. You can do most of the bleeding without starting the car. I ordered mine straight from CSI.

Email Jason Cromer at Sam Taylor Buick Cadillac Parts dept Email addy is gmparts@samtaylor.com. I got mine from him for 130.00 plus shipping and its brand new, not remanufactured like most places you go to. I was told that some places like Pep Boys and what not, sell only remanufactered water pump so there are more proned to fail cuz some of the times, not all of the parts are 100% new. I would rather spend a little more now, than spend more money later replacing the water pump again because of premature failer and also has a dying water pump take out a prefectly good opti (thats more cash down the line).

My 2 cents.

go to autozone, and get a brand new waterpump for $130 and a lifetime warranty, that's all there is to it......no more money for ur waterpump, if it fails again....

or pay $50 and get a remanufactured waterpump and get a 1 year warranty....works fine
