Waterpump failure...

What are some symptoms of WP failure?? I've noticed this coarse,grinding-rattle from my car, and Im just trying to eliminate parts...

you know, that might be it. my car has an annoying grind too and i know for a fact that my water pump is bad because it ruined my opti. do you hear it around the time you let the clutch out in first?

nope, the noise is loudest at idle, but if u spin the motor up to 1500-2k rpm, the noise fades out...Its still there, but not as loud..

well maybe mine is something else. i'll have to see if it goes away when i finally get around to putting in my new water pump
