They won't last more than 5 years on a daily driver. Will give you about 10 peak HP. I saw a dyno graph on that.

So mechanical is the way to go for longevity?

Buy two CSI pumps for the price of the Mez and keep one as a spare incase the first one goes out.

BTW, $130 for a CSI every 5 years isn't a bad deal. Think of how many sets of Z rated tires you'll buy over a 5 year span and how much they will cost you.

Its that its only flaw? I am doing my opti and I think I'll do the water pump just to be safe. Where can I get a CSI?

Go with the CSI. It's much cheaper. Mine lasted 4 years. I wrote them when it stopped working. I spent $50 and sent it back to them. They replaced everything but the housing and i'm back on the road 2 days later Wonderful customer service !

Where can I buy the CSI? And what happens when it fails, will it ruin my opti worse than a stock one would if it fails?

Thanks.

It'll keep your opti high and dry because there is a freeze plug that will cover the weep hole.

I got my CSI from Jeg's, they seemed to have the best price on them.

Jegs upped their price on the CSI's, but there's another site out there that offers them for $130. Just do a search on here for it.

This freeze plug, does that make the electronic pump safer and is that only on the CSI or meizerine too? Explain this to me more please.

If I had both on two cars and they both quit working, would one be better than the other for saving the opti?

My car is a daily driver from April to October. How long do you think it would last?

Basically which one is a better investment?

Do I need a 1LE elbow since it looks like my donkey ******* wont fit anymore?

Both pumps come with the freeze plug and won't **** on your opti. As for longevity one board member said his lasted for abotu 5 years before he got it rebuilt. You can buy a 1LE elbow but I went with the ghetto fabulous route of cutting up a plastic bottle and RTVing it to the elbow. I think I might cut a block of wood out to do it next time.

Well, I put less than 10k on my car each year, closer really to 8k, would that pump last me a decent amount of time? 2500 hours...I mean its hard to gauge that in miles...

Did anyone ever attempt the weep hole re-routing? Thread it and put a hose elsewhere below the opti.

I thought the freeze plug only plugged the drive hole..?

Nah it blocks the weep hole because its no longer functional with the electric unit in place. 2500 hours is a LONG time...Im guessing it'll last a few years.
