Unhappy water pump leak

I hope this question isn't too basic for this forum but i'm not exactly a car mechanic though i am trying to learn how to work on my car myself. I found today when i started my car that it began leaking water from the water pump area, i haven't been able to pinpoint the exact spot yet due to time constraints. if the leak is from the pump, does the whole pump assembly need replaced?? thanks in advance for any help guys!!!!!

96 z28, 6-speed, k&n intake, manual fan switch, many more to come!!!

Re: water pump leak

if it is a coolant leak from the pump, yes, the whole waterpump assm. needs to be replaced

Re: water pump leak

When I bought mine I also got the painless wiring elec waterpump harness that comes with a relay etc. It makes the install a breeze I recommend this harness to anyone looking to purchase a elec wp in the future. Sumitt racing sells the wiring harness for around 40 dollars i believe
