water pump install ??????? need help

water pump install ??????? need help

i got all of the bolts out except for the bottom right bolt, then i took that bolt out and collent came rushing out of the bolt hole, and not out of any of the other holes, so it got me wondering if something could be wrong. the other bolts just had oily goopy residue on them??
fill me in

Not to worry. Your car is just probably situated to where that is the lowest point and most of the coolant is coming out that hole. You can check the other holes for obstructions after you get the pump out.

Yea, don't worry about it, when I installed mine coolant came out both bottom bolts, it will always come out at least one unless you pull the drain plugs on the block to drain whats in the block itself.....

guys do you have pics of the install? any tips for me as I will have to do so tonight... and where is the drain plug for the block? don't want to waste the coolant.. as most of it is brand new.. only put in a week ago.

Just get a bucket or a pan and put under the car if you are worried about losing coolent. If you lose little it will be no big deal. Just top it off with water and bleed the air out of the system and your back in business.

Im not sure on the LS1 stuff. Ive done some minor work on them but never tore into the motor that far. Hop over to the LS1 forum and ask those guys or go to LS1tech.com and post there to get some solid info. Hope that helps.
