Water pump gaskets?

Should i add some sealent (Red RTV) to the gaskets, or is just some gasket adhesive(3M) good enough?

I used gasket adhesive, Indian head gasket shellac, I love that stuff.
No problems, leaks, or anything.

Something else to try is Hyplomar gasket dressing (Permatex #25249). I have used it very successfully on several gasket surfaces. It seals but doesn't cure, so when you want to remove the gasket, it peels right away and the surface wipes clean. It's really good stuff.

Yeah, that stuff is cool. I find it also makes gasket installation a little easier as the gaskets stick to the surface and don't fall off our move around as much.

I used Permatex Orange gasket. You know the kind that's good up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit.
