water Pump ?

Ok so I just started my freshly rebuilt engine this weekend. The water pump leaks through the weep hole (pretty good stream) Until the engine gets warm then it stops leaking. I know that when the weep hole leaks that means that the pump is gonna go but Im wondering if maybe I didn't bleed it right or something because it keeps the car cool and only leaks for a couple mins. does anybody have any ideas, should I just replace the pump and call it a day, or try to figure out the problem.
Thanks Josh

O, its the stock pump with 80,000 miles on it.

Easy call man, replace it. There cheap and easy and once there off have a high tendency to leak. They generally start to need replacing around 100kish anyway...also id replace your thermostat at the same time because its only a matter of time before that fails as well and youd be stranded. There like $20 from any aftermarket parts store and id recommend staying with the 180 thermo and not going with the 160 despite some people will say you get more power...check with the tuners like PCMforless or MadZ28, I know Bryan at PCM advocates the 180.

yea and if you have the money you may as well replace the opti spark. As far as I know you dont have to change plugs and wires just because your changing the opti, but since the pump is already off, and optis usually start to have issues about 100K as well, id replace it too.

Both of my Autozone pumps did not come with a thermostat. Just a heads up.

Well then, its a pretty clear choice. Does anybody know where to buy a good pump for a decent price?

O'reilly's has a great price for water pumps. My new waterpump for my 97 LT1 cost only like $70 bucks...that was new....rebuilt was only like $45 or so and their rebuilts are pretty good....well waterpumps anyways...opti's no.....lol

The pump I got has a lifetime warrenty and it came with all the gaskets and shaft bearings etc..... very nice and almost had a polished appearance to it. It really dressed up the black block in my car.
