It is up to you.

With the electric you have: *more coolant flow, for a cooler operating temp *frees up a few hp (like 10) *doesnt leak onto the opti when it goes

BUT if it does go you have no warning, unless you wire up a little warning light thing, and even then if you are on a freeway, you cant go for more than a few minutes before it grenades itself for a rebuild.

If it was up to me, i would go with an original stocker WP. I would rather lose 10 hp and maybe an opti than have to rebuild my motor.

Is this a daily driver? In *my* opinion then, you should get a original style WP. An electric WP may last 2500 hours which would be driving about 3 hours every day for three years, if it works properly.

I like the GM pump (new and not rebuilt). Any opti or cam install guide (one on my site) will show you how to remove the water pump.
