water pump?

water pump?

i just bought a new and was told it was an electric one. it is still complete and in the housing. i got it for $50 with housing so i really dont care if its not but i am just wondering how i will be able to tell if it is an electric one or normal. without opening it up and looking. or maybe i am just completely confused and have no idea what im talking about but could someone help me out Thanks Joe

is there 2 electrical wires coming from it, if you anwsered yes, then you have a electric pump if you anwsered no them you have a mechanical pump

the lt1 pumps are cam driven so there is no pully for it

thanks guys i was confused by all that mine is just normal and i thought it was but the guy told me it was electric. i wasnt buying it for the pump anyways i needed the housing. i feel stupid but at least i got it straight. ill try to ask more inteligent questions in the future.

Remember the only stupid questions, are the ones that arnt asked

My friends mechanic keept insisting that the stock waterpump was electric since there was no pully on nit. wow what a mechanic.
