Water Puddle on Passenger front floor board! Help!!!
I started my drive to work this morning and notice a big puddle of water is starting to build up on the passenger side floor board, front seat area, not the back seat. It is water for sure, not antifreeze. It is clean water.
Here's the deal, it rained hard yesterday, but it stopped before I drove home, and the water was not there then I got home. I think I had the defrost or the air conditioning on, but I'm not sure. My drive is 25 miles, so I think condenstion could have built up from the air or defrost. I had about 3 cups of water on the floor. It dripped down from the back of the dash, down the carpet and onto the floor. It came from straight in front of the passenger seat and from the hump under the radio.
Anyone have this problem, or good guesses where to start looking? I'm guessing a seal broke, or some kind of drain hole is plugged, but don't know where they are.
Here are a couple of threads that I found when I searched, but they don't answer the problem completely.

I'd check the firewall from the engine bay, and all the seals around the windshield. This is provided your heater core didn't let loose.
I had (still have) the same problem with my beater. Turns out the metal under the bottom of the windshield has rusted through.
If you find the leak, some flowable silicon should take care of it.

Well, to close out this thread, I found out what the problem was.
My AC drain hole was plugged. It was hard to find that hole. There is no tube, or anything to let you know where the AC should drain from.
This is how you find it. Looking from the top of the engine, you can see where the AC lines run through the firewall, on the passenger side next to the PCM. There is a big black plastic casing around the whole assembly that you can see from the engine bay. Well, the hole is in the bottom of that plastic piece, towards the drivers side on the bottom. You can only see it from underneath the car. IT's pretty well hidden. I had the car up on ramps, and shining a flashlight up there, you will be able to see about a 3/8" hole. It's doesn't look very obvious, but it for sure is the AC drainage hole because I took a long flathead screwdriver and as soon as I touched the hole, I got a shower from all the water that was plugged up.
There was something blocking that hole enough to hold the water back, and eventually overflow it into the passenger compartment.

Good deal. I always thought the AC drained into the cowl drain which exists out the bottom of the car. Learned something new today.

There is one on both sides of the car, not too far behind the front wheels and slightly inside the frame rail. It basically looks like just a gap between two pieces of sheet metal. Easiest way to find it it to pour some water down the cowl and see where it exists. Of course if nothing comes out thats not much help, but then at least you know it is clogged.

Yes, that's the hole that gave me a shower when I poked it with the screwdriver.

Shoebox,
Would you happen to have a picture of where the cowl drain is on the drivers side (from underneath the car)?
Thanks,

Really, no, I don't have a pic of that. Sorry.

Hey Frank, some of the water leaked onto my drivers side too, so you might want to check that AC/Defrost hole. (if you still have AC on the car).
