Water makes my car run like complete (EDIT)

On my way home yesterday I ran through a puddle of water and about 2 stop lights later my idle went down to like 400 and when i tried to take off it was sluggish almost like if it was a mis fire or something. But this only happens when I hit a puddle or i get the car washed and they use water underneath the car. What the hell could this be? Oh and it only happens when i hit a puddle on the passenger side.

I know that I dont have the cover that goes over the turn signal housing could water be getting into a component through there? But then again I have been missing that piece for ever and it never did this.

EDIT: Please do not over ride the language filter, particularly in the "topic" line.

As to why it happens when the pass. side hits a puddle, your opti is probably just more exposed as water comes from that direction -- or maybe it's just coincidence that it only happens when that side hits a puddle...

Yep, wet opti. Get an opti umbrella.

Make sure the plug-wire boots are seated well on the opti and water is not getting past them.
