Wanting to convert to E85
Wanting to convert to E85
In my hometown the only fuel available is 87 and E85. Currently my motor has CC503 with 1.6rr, LT headers, cai, 2.5 X pipe with bullets, ~11.0 to 1 compression ratio, and pcmforless tune. I know that where i am at i will need larger injectors and fuel pump. Currently thinking about getting a AEM E85 pump that flows 320 lph (84 gph) at 43 PSI. Will this pump cause my fuel pressure to spike? From my understanding e85 will wreck the stock fuel pressure regulator over time. I know that other lt1 owners have ran the stock FPR on their cars but dont know how long they have lasted. Can anyone give me any advice on this subject? I talked to Soloman about the tune and told me that he can tune for E85. Even told me that is what he runs. I plan on doing the cable rental from him.
Re: Wanting to convert to E85
Where do you live that they only have 87-octane pump gas? That usually happens in locations at a very high elevation above sea level, because higher octane fuel is not required.
