Want to swap an LT1 into a '91 Suburban
Sure it could work, but many people have cautioned the use of an LT-1 engine in a TOWING PACKAGE APPLICATION, due to the cooling issues. The 94-96 B-BODY 9C1 POLICE PACKAGE CAPRICES all used the MECHANICAL COOLING FAN option, and ofcourse the cast iron heads. I haven't seen anyone with this application other than the S10 BLAZERS. As far as parts necessary to do this swap, here goes:
If you are planning on maintaining the 700r4 application with the TV cable, then use the 93 LT-1 F-BODY harness and ECM, along with a 93 F-BODY throttle body, which has the provision to connect the TV cable. You will also need the 93 LT-1 F-BODY Throttle cable/TV cable bracket, since this is the only bracket which has the hole for the TV cable. Go to http://speeddensity.org, and you can find the parts you will need. It is much easier also to just a 94-97 LT-1 intake and fuel rails with the 93 throttle body and bracket, than to use the complete 93 intake and fuel rails. There is a member on here with a 94 suburban with a LT-4 and 4L60E setup, if you would like to go that route as well.
BTW, the MECHANICAL COOLING FAN setup, only works on the 94-96 B-BODY bracketry, which is different than the 93-97 F-BODY bracketry. It is pretty hard to find as well, and it is offset from a conventional MECHANICAL COOLING FAN location. Just some things to consider.
A much easier setup for your 91 Suburban would be to just convert it to TPI, which would provide you more torque and is pretty simple to convert your existing 91 TBI wiring harness to the 90-92 Speed Density F-BODY wiring and 7730 ECM. HTH's

when i did my swap i called these gys with any questions, they where very helpful seeing as swaping F-body motors into other cars is pretty much all they do
here is a LS1 into a 94 suburban that they did
