Want some engine building tips. Prolly not your regular cam, etc questions
Building a heavily ported heads and sollid roller cam stock bottom end(for now) LT1
Couple concerns/question i have were with the massive spring pressures my sollid roller w
ill have is is really an issue of spinning the cam bearings?
To explain more, stock prings have maybe 100# seat pressure if that, i will have near 600# (cc 943s).
I would just think that during initial startup and idleing, i may have to worry about this.
Should i install a high volume or high pressure oil pump?
Should i use a high PSI oil such as a straight weight SEA 30? i live in texas were it is really hot all the time.
Next item is, i am using a cloyes tru-roller double roller timeing chain. will this clear my timing cover?
Any other ideas or comments? VERY bad luck with a heads cam/cc306 install and don t wanna waist my money again.
I dont have to build the shortblock, but when it comes to other stuff. just hoping to learn for others mistakes here.
heads flow 285/214 at .600 and the cam is a 244/244, .611/.611 lift on a 112.
