Want to delete A.I.R. have a couple questions
I plan on removing my smog pump, and all the associated crap in the very near future. I dont plan on leaving Michigan anytime soon, so emmissions testing is not a concern and it clutters the engine bay.
My questions are:
What size plugs will i need to block off the air tubes on the exhaust manifolds?
and
Does anyone have the part number for the shorter serpentine belt I'll need?
TIA

The way I plugged mine was with the stock bolts. I cut the stems from the top and pulled the whole piece out the bottom on both sides. I had the two bolts welded over to close them off and then I just screwed them back in. Once your pump is out and you start your car up if your SES light is on check the fuze box on the inside of the engine bay, and make sure you didn't blow a fuze when you were removing it. I hope this helps out some I had mine bolts capped off because I didn't want to look at two broken spark plugs.
First off, if you have an LT1, the smog pump is not belt driven it is electric. And if you don't have an LT1 may I ask why you posted this here?
Secondly, the plugs on the exhaust manifolds are two different sizes depending on what year vehicle you have, so post that info and we can help you from there.

I just did mine with my new motor. It will also depend on the type of exhaust you have. If its the stock exhaust you will need either m18 or m22 drain plugs. If your like me and have SLP headers you will need some 5/8ths brass caps.
I'm assuming you just didn't know that it's an electric pump.
Do a search on the subject. Thats where I got all my info.
Let us know.

I did it just because my motor was in pieces and I didn't want to put it back in.
Looks like crap with all them pipes and sheit. It makes the bay cleaner looking and there is more room to work for plugs and stuff. Also when changing water pump, opti, TC and cam. Plus a lot of aftermarket headers do not come with the piping for them. There is a pipe that runs from one exhaust manifold to the other that will need hack sawin it in 2 to remove.
As far as gains....NADA! I'm still glad I did it though.

Thanks for the info.
I didnt know it was electrically driven, Im still pretty new to the LT1 scene, so i just assumed it was belt driven like my L98 was.
And the car is a 94 Z28. Which size plugs will i need?
