Walbro install...Quick question?

Hello,
I started the Racetronic Walbro 255 install tonight. I used a pair of tin snips to cut the hole. My question is....How do I disconnect my fuel lines coming off the tank opening. None of the websites addresses the issue. The ones I've seen (using trap door method) just show the the 4 fuel lines connected and then disconnected with the fuel pump out.

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks,
Its hard to get my hands back there to disconnect them. I'll have to go get a pain of long needle nose pliers.

Re: Walbro install...Quick question?

Tell you what I've done it both ways, trap door and dropping the tank, and I've got to tell you that dropping the tank was maybe a few more bolts, muffler, rear end etc, but to me much less frustrating. My fat hands had a hard time with those quick disconnect fittings using the trap door method. With the tank out of the car it is so much easier. I've since replaced those quick disconnect fittings with appropriate AN screw on fittings because they made me so mad. Not to mention that I dropped the tank and sealed it with POR-15, which will make Racetronix and (Walbro) much happier if you have an issue with their pump. First thing they ask is whether your tank is rusting and did you flush it as recommended. Next time that happens, hopefully never, I'll tell them that there is no chance of rust in the tank and I want a new pump and now.
