Waking Up The 383 A Bit
Waking Up The 383 A Bit
Getting ready to make a few purchases in hopes of giving my 383 a little more grunt. The list is: Pacesetter Lt's and y-pipe, Holley 58mm t-body, MSD Digital 6, and NGK TR6's. For some flash i'm getting a polished Vortech elbow, and with the addition of the MSD w/nitrous retard i'll finally get to hit that button!
Oh yeah for the extra power I got a set of Nitto DR's 315/35 R17. Its real easy to get rid of $1800 bucks.

Mine in particular is pretty rough at idle. It's not my daily driver but it really could be. My truck was is the shop for warranty items all week and I had to drive my Camaro. Let's just say it is a fun car to drive. Rich at idle and plenty of cam surge.
Re: Waking Up The 383 A Bit
Well I got the headers and y-pipe on. Those were not bad at all to install, no leaks or rubbing. The mf'er was mating it to my Borla exhaust, the whole exhaust had to come off and when it went back together it seems to sit about 1"-2" further back. There is a difference in the way the car acts now, when cold started it tends to idle lower not stalling just lower. I also am seeing more engine movement at idle, I can really feel it in the shifter, I may go to poly mounts. I had to put a restrictor plate in my Borla, it was just too loud for those early morning startups. Well before I install my 58mm t-body i'm gonna get a MadZ28 tune so I can install my 38lb. injecters and eliminate the EGR and AIR.
