doesn't allow you to use an airfoil without serious modification to the elbow, acts as a heat sink, gives you hassles with the IAT sensor...
and costs way too much...

how's that?

Lightbulb

not only does the 1LE not have the bottom extension, but there is no added hole leading to the silencer! so it is a bit diferent.

Another option would be the new Trick Flow Elbow. I just got mine on SAtuday and it is a nice piece. It also does not have the divider going thru the middle of the elbow.

I went with the Vortec cause it was a little cheaper. It mated just fine to my car. It was already tapped for the IAT sensor. You have to file down the sensor and then thread it but it wasn't too hard. I also had to drill a hole for my Optispark vent and tap that too but it wasn't hard either. The hardest thing for me was finding a size "R" drill and correct tap. It does have the divider but I'm pretty stock so I see it as a help. Here's a pic:

I chose the non-polished and decided to paint it black.

Yes, I know, I need to clean the engine

No problems with mine, I use the SLP air foil, fits perfect.
I had to trim 1" off the elbow for the SLP cai. I relocated the IAT to the SLP cai(air hole for airpump)Finished it by powdercoating
to match.

Looks good . Relocating the IAT to the CAI is a great idea. It cleans up the elbow alot and hides the IAT from sight. I was going to get the polished elbow but you got me thinking. Matching the elbow to the SLP CAI looks sweet! Thanks for the pics and ideas.
