checking SES codes on a obd1 '95 with a obd2 style pulg?

checking SES codes on a obd1 '95 with a obd2 style pulg?

Do you still use the A-B and jump them over or will that not work on OBD1 cars? if not how can I go about getting them? my buddie has a datamaster and I have the cable but I dont know when I can get over to his house to check it out..Thanks For the help

I have a 95 as well, and as far as I know, there is no simple or cheap way to rerieve the trouble codes, such as jumping your ALDL (like the old connectors). You need some kind of code reader.

if you have the cable, just buy you a cheap laptop off ebay and download freescan its free(hence the name) and it will pull codes. and clear them.

No, because it is OBD-I.

You can use an OBD-I code reader that has the 12 pin plug and adapt it like this to read the codes, though.
