Vig 2800

Anyone running this converter? What is it actually stalling up at? Mine seems to be stalling up pretty low but I was told that the stall would increase after more bolt-ons, etc

I got a 2800 Vigilante multi disc t/c. I had it spec'd for my old combo which was dyno'd at 405 RWHP / 418 RWTQ and I only had it for three days before blowing up the motor anyway I only got two runs in on it before I roasted the motor and on the fatefull pass I power braked it to 2500 no problem and it flashed up a little and took off. After putting my new motor in I'd have to say it stalls around 3300-3500.

The pass I ran before blowing up the motor was the best I had run on pump gas (12.09 @ 112). I picked up 3 tenths with the Vig as the only mod while leaving soft and cutting a 1.800 sixty ft, on the pass it blew up on I cut a 1.66 sixty ft and after spinning the second, third and fourth main bearings at 3/4 track it still managed to run a 12.5@100.

A vigilante t/c is definatly worth the money and a quality mod

I got ya...thats cool.

My Vig 2800 is stalling right around 2200-2400 rpm's...but I'm hoping for a slightly higher stall after a few more mods...

Thanks

Only if you do modifications that "increase" low end torque?, then the stall will increase, (increased compression, more cubic inches, etc.).

I get my car back with the 3.73's pcmforless and 2800 vigilante like you. What tires are you running and how is your traction?

I have some crappy Futura Z rated tires from Pep Boys on my stock salad shooters. Better tires are my next step...

How about you?

Going to pickup my Vigi 2800 Tomorrow

I did a lot of research into this brand of Torque Converter before I decided to order it. Vigilantes are known as nearly bullet proof converters and I have had extremely few people have bad experiences with them. I'm looking forward to see how it performs when i get my PCM reprogrammed by Brian, as well as a new set up tires.

i plan on running BFGoodrich drag radials with that setup. I'm hoping to acheive a 60 foot time of 1.7 with the stall and DRs. Right now I'm cutting 2.0s on Dunlop 5000 Comps with a SFCs, LCAs, and RLBs.
