VIDEO -WOT 1-3, BRE Cam Only, Bolt On Car
Here is a video, WOT of my car, 1st-3rd gear, for anyone that wasnt following the other thread I posted the link in.
http://videos.camaroz28.com/video/f9...9d010e8307.htm
And before anyone asks, Yes I was not WOT until around 3000-3500 in first as I was pulling out of gravel and onto the road. Also, short shifting a little bit, shifted at 6000 on stock tach, but it pulls strong up to around 6300ish. I want to get it on the scanner at work, and datastream it to see what kinda RPM's im actually turning when the stock tach is at 6,000.
Would it hurt anything if I set my 685's rev limiter at 6000, and wound it up till I hit it, so I can see, where on the stock tach that would be ???

Thanks guys, appriciate it. Just wanted to get it on here cause I know alot of people have been considered going with one of Bret's cams for stock heads. There's not many videos on here though yet so I wanted to get some up right away.
Everything went together smooth, parts came quick, and it was probably one of the most worthwhile things I could have done. I mean, dont get me wrong, Im not jumping up and down to do it all over again, these cars are kinda a pain to work on, but all in all, as long as you plan it all out and make sure you have everything ahead of time, a cam install isnt that bad. This was the first V8 Ive done so ... Definatly worth it though.

Sounds SAAAAA-WEET man. I'm getting a BRE cam cut right now. Also in the shed...yet to be installed....3.73's, Yank conv, Trans go s/kit, 52mm TB, 160 Stat, Ltube headers, 30lb SVO's, electric water pump, alum drive shaft, bigger fuel pump, etc. PCMforLess will do the tune after all is installed. So we'll have alot of the same mods. Mine's going on a 97 WS6 w/4l60e. What kind of Q/mile times do you run....just to give me an idea of what I'm in for...
slow & da curious - Not sure, haven't had it to the track with the cam yet. Before the cam & cut out though, I would hang pretty even with my friends grandsport from a roll, which is a low 13 second car. So im figuring if I cant cut at least a 13.0 with the new cam, cutout, and tune, I SUCK at driving.
What are you getting Bret to grind for you? He told me mine was really close to a LE1.5 and to tell Bryan to tune it based on that cam. You'll like it. Only time there are any driveability issues is going really slow in first gear, like through a parking lot or something. It will start chugging. You have to keep it above 1400-1500 RPMs or it will start bucking a little. But for everything else, it pretty much drives like stock. Just cruising around, I shift it around 2200-2400ish but there are tons of hills in Pittsburgh so somewhere more level ??? Good luck with it, im sure it will come along fine.

@Hardcore-My engine guy did all the work with Bret on the cam grind so I'm not sure on specs yet as the cam hasn't come in but it isn't going to be anything too big. He's put together some bad *** motors so I'm leaving it all up to him. I just told him what kind of car I had and how fast I wanted to go and he's handled it from there.
