Victor Reinz 5898 head gaskets?

Anyone run these? Any issues with them, I see they are not the most popular choice, but they are 0.026" thick compressed, making them the thinnnest for the most compression, and that's what was recommended by the one that did the head work.

They are the stock replacements for the caprice, hence the 0.026"..... Victor Reinz makes good gaskets, and I have had no issues or any shops that use them...
Most people get on the fel pro wagon...

Yeah, the Felpro 1074 were thicker at 0.039. Mr Gasket 5716 is a bit thinner then the felpro.
Since the VR 5998 is the Impy replacement, I don't guess it matters that its aluminum/iron rather than iron/iron like on the Impy?

The VR 5898 IS the Mr. Gasket .026! I have a thread about it on here somewhere if you search my username. Been running it for about a year... 10-12k miles and no problems yet.

The ones I bought at Autozone, I had no issues with the coating. Slid right out of the package.

I live in the small rural town in IL that has a Dana plant, among other gaskets and seals, they make Victor Reinz gaskets there. I know the plant manager, he's a cool car guy. From the obviously biased reports I hear and from my tour of the plant they take pride in making quality products.

That is good to hear. Mine have been in place for six years and work just fine, too.
