Re: Vibration at high speed acceleration????Help
do you mean only under acceleration? does it go away if you hold one speed...say 90mph???
if it is only under load i would be checking the Ujoints and maybe the trans mount.
if it's constant at speed, then it's probably just the steel driveshaft, which is WELL known for not being very balanced.

Re: Vibration at high speed acceleration????Help
I'd start checking every bolt back there, specially the U-joint, to see if they're tight. It might also be your tranny, might need repairing or something and causing the driveshaft to shake.
Let me know when you reach 178,000 without a rebuild

I have just a constant humm/shake at higher speeds. Does the ls1 shaft help this? I have seen some sell fairly cheap.
If its under accell I would definatly check the trans mount.

When i get home iam just goning to replace the damn u joints
Good lord i hope its not the tranny...If it is ill buy the vigilante torque converter, when i have it replaced lol...As far as the tranny crossmember mount already had to replace that, ripped that poor sucker in half 5000 mi ago
. I have to give credit to gm that trans had a flush at 100,00 and i'll admit i havent treated that 4LE60 like a cream puff...Its got some street races under its belt...If it get through this ill make 178,00
Thanks ill see what i can do....Ryan

Re: Vibration at high speed acceleration????Help
Once I broke my first trans mount, I never made a stock one last more than a month or two. Probably was over tightning them or something. Energy series fixed it. Now more vibes from everything though
I thought alignment also, but if you think its from the back I doubt it.

Re: Vibration at high speed acceleration????Help
What he meant was does it do it constantly at high speed? If it makes this noise at 90+ and makes it until you slow down, it's your steal driveshaft, and yes the common fix is to replace it with either the 1le aluminum driveshaft or ls1 aluminum driveshaft.
Re: Vibration at high speed acceleration????Help
90+ for me was that POS driveshaft. i put the ls1 aluminum 3" on and it all went away. i paid 120 used from rick fragnoli at cleveland pick a part. i think it was www.clevelandpickapart.com.
