Vibration
A while ago I tapped a curb on a right turn and it just killed my tire, rubber was ripped but really didnt scrape the rim that much, not very noticible. I got two new front tire and they balanced them and rotated the front ones to the back and the back ones to the front.. That would mean that my rim that hit the curb is the on rear. I noticed my car was out of alignment so I took it to the shop and they said I needed new outer tie rods so I replaced those. I then went to get an alignment and then all is good except for at speeds above 50MPH when I let go of the wheel the wheel vibrates left and right but I dont necissarily feel it inside the car. and at around 55MPH the whole car vibrates pretty bad but I think it might be my poly trans mount but I never seemed to feel that bofore I hit the curb. I am really worried about the steering wheel vibrating left and right at higher speeds, VERY annoying. Does anyone know what could possibly cause this steering wheel vibration? Trey mentioned something about a steering wheel tensioner? I hope its not a bent rim but the rim is in the back anyway so why would it make the steering wheel vibrate?
You may have damaged your wheel bearings.
1.) Lift the car, damaged side in the air.
2.) Try to push against the tire/wheel to see if their is play. (Push on wheel from either its top part or lower part, while you are facing the side of your car)
3.) Replace if damaged. Expect around $80-$130 setback (parts).
Good Luck
