Today my ebay CAI kit came in and i installed it. Now, I had heard some bad things about these kits so I ordered it under the beleif that it would come and I wouldn't be all that impressed. On my old camaro I had the SLP cold air kit, which in my opinion was the best one, but $200 Dollars for the SLP vs. $40 shipped for the ebay kit made my mind up to at least try the ebay kit. The sellers ebay id was "intakepro" incase you may be interested. It came and it was well packaged. The aluminum tubes it came with were about the thickness of an exhaust pipe (not too thin) and the finish was highly polished. It looked like chrome (different than what I had heard about other ebay kits). The filter was a cone style filter. Looks well made. All the edges of the pipe were smooth and ready for installation. I had heard with other kits that the edges of the pipe needed filling down because of barbs and such from cutting the pipe. It came with instructions but i had allready done a CAI install and just chucked them. The kit also included the right plumbing for the rubber air tube that connects to the stock intake. The only gripe I have about the kit is it did not fit perfectly. It does fit well enough the function and look good, but it may be just a little bit off. To me the kit was worth the money. It looks great, fit ok, and I can't imagine a less restrictive kit as far as performance goes. All in all and excellent purchase.

Looks and sounds/reads like what I've been looking for. Only one question though, why are there about 5 different price ranges for the same thing? Price ranges from $7-$21? It states that when you order to give year, eng. size, etc... so I'm guessing that it's up to them as to what they send you? Some of the $7 pictures looked "short" after the bend?? Which one did you receive? When you say it didn't fit exactly correct, what were the problems and what did you do to fix it?

I'd order this right now but I'm wondering why others haven't jumped all over this purchase instead of buying the $150-$200 gems, seems like a HELL of a deal....what gives??

 

The one thing i've noticed about the price difference is there shipping prices.. There may be one for $7 but the shipping is like $30.. Always look at their shipping prices.

One reason they are cheaper I'm sure is because the filter is a CHEAP filter. It may be a good deal but I think I would buy a new (K&N or equal) air filter to go on the end of it.

I think that I might have the same CAI as you that I got from ebay. The shine goes away after a while and is kind of hard to clean, but for $40 I can complain.

 

If no pic's then I assume covert advertising.

 

Impressive if he spent time posting 230 times just to advertise.

Personally, If there are no pics, I would assume he may not have a digital camera.
