Question Very Simple Question About LT1 Stroker Cranks

Does anyone (i.e. Compstar, Eagle, Scat, Callies, Hank the Crank, etc., etc., etc.,) make a cast steel stroker crank for building a 396 LT1 stroker motor? Or are all the 3.875" 1 piece seal aftermarket SBC stroker cranks...............forged?

I know they make cast 3.750" stroker cranks for making 383 LT1 strokers, but, so far I've found nothing in 3.875" cast cranks!

I think you need to rethink your priorities. Cubes don't make power airflow does. and if spending a few thousand on an engine build why worry about the couple hundred dollars more forged costs?

Just go forged, MAKE it part of your budget. Listen to this guy! Why go 396, when there's so many good options for 383 and 355s? Nothing really except preference and $$$.

Thumbs up

96capricemgr and SuperbeaSSt, first off, thanks! for your responses.

Let me assure you both however that there is no need for me to "rethink my priorities". Believe me ..... I do know the benefits of good airflow through an engine, and its effect on producing horsepower.

I am, at this time, canvassing the available aftermarket parts suppliers to make sure we know all the options available to us. Thanks (again) for all replies and input to date ......but again.....the very simple question I'm asking is ....... does any aftermarket supplier make cast steel 3.875" 1 piece seal SBC cranks?

TIA for all replies!

I have not come accross one but have not really been looking either.

Care to share why cast is so important?

Why are you dead set on cast?
