Very Confused....HELP!!! (header guys inside)
I'm having the exact same problem with the MACs. I couldn't find out where it was coming from, so I jacked the car up and tightend everything again. I thought that the problem was fixed, but the next time I drove it, the ticking was still there. So the other day I put it up on the hoist and found out exactly where it was coming from. On the primary for the number 8 cylinder there is a little fitting and flange coming off the tube. If that isn't flush with the air tube going to it you will get the ticking. I'm going to cram mine with copper RTV and seal her up. Or maybe just remove the stinking Air Pump. But I'm 99.9% sure this is where your ticking is coming from. Good luck.
it does sound like it is coming from the slip tube region....but when we put it on we put silicone on it so it wouldnt leak...i am going home next week to have my friends dad take a look at it...we will see..
Check the slip tube i just got my MAC's on and they didnt use any high temp silcone and guess what thats were my leak is from how annoying..Any ideas on what i can do to stop this..Can that slip tube be welded or can i just put silcone around the joint im not taking the headers out to do this so any suggestion would be great thanks......
