Vented Opti vacuum harness on old style intake

Where do you stick the vacuum return line for a vented opti in a pre-95 car? I'm upgrading to the vented opti in my cam swap, and the line to the intake elbow can be taken care of, but where do I stick the exhaust/return line?

Tee off one of your other connections (like EGR).

The way it works is that one hose goes to the intake elbow to supply filtered air. That air is pulled through the opti by virtue of the vaccum hose connected to the intake. So, that is how it needs to be to be of any use.

Make sure you have the correct hose with the filter/flow reducer and backflow valves when connection to vacuum. If those are not in there, you can wipe out your opti with too much vacuum.

Will the hose fit on the hole for the EGR solenoid? I'm taking that off during the swap. If not, im just plugging both holes in the opti

Yes, that would be perfect. It is the very same size.

Scooby, you know LT1's don't belong on the moon! Of course, I have never seen the way you drive.

Any other spots you can easily utilize the intake vaccum from? I havent had the EGR for a while and obviously a 94 intake. Hmm...which part is the solenoid? Is it the small cubical thing on the drivers side near the rear and the fuel lines? Would I use the male plug its using on the intake? Just wondering... thanks guys.

EDIT: On the shoebox linked pic above. Could I just pull off the "to EGR solenoid" thing and plug on my opti vaccum?

What do ya say Mr. Shoebox?

Just use the little fitting coming out of the side of the manifold that normally would have the vacuum hose going to your EGR solenoid. Very easy.

Which end of the hose are you blowing into? There are two discs in the vacuum line - one is a filter and one is a check valve. You need to keep them both.
