vented opti conversion

Can anyone tell me why the shaft on the 95+ opti has two seals on it? I don't see a reason for them. Maybe I'm missing something here. I am swapping this onto a 94, along with many other things. The shaft fits ver tight with those seals on it and i"m wondering if I can take them off.

Yep, It's a XE 224/230 from Comn=bination Motorsports, with the longer dowel pin. Anyone know why the opti shaft has two seals on it?

I would think to give it stability at high rpm's inside the cam hole.
