Vented Opti ?

I have a 97 Z and replaced the opti when I got my new engine. However when everything was installed I no longer have the vented part to the opti. Could that mess anything up? Don't know what my mechanic did, but there is no line to plug into my elbow now from the opti spark. Let me know please.

Re: Vented Opti ?

You need both the clean air supply line that runs from the blue elbow on the intake bellows to the Opti housing, and the vacuum line that runs from the Opti housing to the nipple on the driver's side of the intake manifold. If the air suplly line is not connected, you may be pulling in dirty air and moisture from under the car, which could damage the Opti (not good for your engine either, but its just a small dirty air flow).

Go over the system and make sure both the air supply and vacuum lines are correctly hooked up.
