vented oil filler cap???
vented oil filler cap???
i fixed my intake leaking oil at the rear {by the EGR tube} at about 16k miles. now at 27,850 it's back. same spot. i used Permatex Ultra Copper RTV last time. what's better? also this time i'm going to block the flow thru that EGR tube as i've been told the heat from it weakens the seal at this point on the intake. i'm also wanting to run this vented cap to reduce crankcase pressure as the seal is blowing from the inside out leading me to believe crankcase pressure may add to the failure of the seal. is anyone running a vented cap like this and if so, does it affect driveability. i was told that it will introduce unmetered air into the intake stream because the PCV valve will now be pulling through it rather than the vent line attatched from the throttle body to the passenger side valve cover which is metered air as it is downstream of the MAF sensor. here's the cap i ordered:

I also have the hose from the valve cover to the throttle body removed. so NO unmetered air goes into the TB.

That hose FEEDS the PCV system metered air from the TB[not the other way around]
