Question Vent Tube

I know that the vent tube that runs from the canister to the top of the fuel tank is off....I want to know is it hurting me any or do I need to find out a way to put this back on....

When the PCM opens the EEC purge solenoid, it is going to be sucking pure air into the intake, rather than the fuel vapor/air mix that will come out of a correctly functioning EEC system. The PCM should be able to compensate for that, using the long term fuel corrections (BLM's). But a vacuum leak - which is equivalent to what you have with the EEC canister not connected to the tank - hurts you some, because it drives the BLM's above 128, and when you go WOT, the PCM uses those higher values for fuel calculations, runs richer. Probably not a big error, but it should be fixed, or the line plugged temporarily.
