Vavle cover bolts leaking oil!
I am have been having some very weird problems lately and i am thinking they are all related. For starters, my passenger side valve cover has oil coming out from under the bolts (yes they are tight) so this means i have a ton of pressure under that valve cover. Next, i have had a really really bad exhaust smell lately that is coming from under the hood and i can't find a single exhaust leak. Finally, my intake manifold appears to coated in oil when looking through the tb blades. So, im thinking maybe valve seals but these are about 70k old so i figured they would last a little longer. What do you guys think? The car physically runs great other than this problem.
I was thinking about installed some type of catch can but how would i plumb it so it vents both valvecovers? Would this help my problem for now? Thanks for the replies.

I had the same problem with mine, had to wipe them down every so often, then I did my cam change with new springs and roller rockers, and after tightening the covers back down I have had zero problems, I can't see how this helped, but it did. Anyway have you checked your PVC valve, maybe its plugged, if you take it out you should here it shaking inside. Thats just a stab in the dark, if its not that, then I don't know what else it couldbe. Far as oil in the intake, I would think there should be some in there cause of the PCV sending back all the fumes will pull some oil in there as well and thus leaving it coated. If I'm not mistaken worn valve seals will leave smoke out the exhaust pipe at start-up then after 20-30 seconds or so it will go away, bad rings will leave smoke out the pipe constantly
I am running the hot cam kit with roller rockers with long tubes etc. I will check out the pvc but Is there anything i can do to the driver side valvecover to vent it? The passenger side is not leaking but there was oil in the pcv tube that goes to the throttle body. Thanks again for the help.

2.) Make sure that the hose going from the throttle body to passenger valve cover is not plugged.

I may have found the problem, i think. There is no valve in my pcv valve, just a straight shot. Could this be it?

you might try the 'oil seperator trick ' in that psgr valve cover hose to try to keep the oil from going into the TB...
P/N's:
Deutsch Oil Seperater Breather BF412 [or Purolator part B23165 or Fram BA 6592]
It replaces the little plastic elbow in psgr valve cover..
