VATS or some other trouble, light flashes as codes??
When I come out to dis-arm my alarm in the morning I have observed a strange set of symptoms that I don't know what to make of.
I have a 1996 Z-28
When I dis-arm the first attempt to unlock\disarm only nets me a series of flashing lights from the tail-lights, no horn, no locks unlocking.-do the # of flashes relate to anything?
A series of several unlock button pushes will finally unlock the car, with the regular horn chirp, light flashes and doors unlocking.
The transmitter has been re-synched by removing the radio fuse, turning the ingnition three times, ect., ect.
This behavior has happened for about 4 days in a row.
Yesterday, the car did not want to start at ALL when I put the key in and turned.
I thought-dead battery and went to charge it but as soon as I attached the charger I heard the system "come to life" and the car started with no charging of the battery.
I got out the trusty Fluke 187 and meausred battery voltage with the car off and got a voltage of 12.8 Volts.
I started the car again and had a voltage of 14.8V vith the alternator running.
Both the battery and the alternator are less than a month old.
anyone have any Idea what my problem is?
Thanks,
Tal
