VATS Relay Location/Pic?

I need help figuring out which relay, if any, in this pic is the VATS relay. The airbag brakcet has been removed and all relays/modules that were attached to it are in this pic, except for the black VATS module.

Here is a pic of the area where the relay used to be until the bracket was removed.

This is next pic is the closest pic I could find but it only shows where the relay was located behind the bracket so I'm not sure if I removed the relay from the car or not. I think it is from Brent Franker's site.

Re: VATS Relay Location/Pic?

Okay, I think I found the VATS relay. It is to the right of the glove box and has a purple, yellow/black, brown, and white wire coming out of it. Is this the VATS relay? If so, how do I bypass it? Thanks,
Tim

You have two threads going on this now. Confusing.

Sorry, I was getting frustrated. I fixed the problem though. I removed the VATS relay and spliced the purple and brown wires and the engine fired right up. Thanks for the help and sorry for the second thread.

Is this all for a remote start? I am about to put one in this week also. What did you splice those to wires for and what exactly did you do with them? I don't know if it will be the same though because my car is a 94.

Re: VATS Relay Location/Pic?

No I just removed my airbags and, like an idiot, I got frustrated to the point that I just cut out a module so that I could easily remove the passenger airbag bracket. That module happened to be the VATS module. I had madz28 program my PCM and he programmed VATS out of the PCM. When I got the PCM back the car still wouldn't start and that is when shoebox informed me that there is a VATS relay that also needed to be modified. So I took out that relay, which is to the right and behind the glove box and cut the connections off of the purple and brown wires that go into that relay. I simply wrapped the yellow/black and yellow wires with electrical tape so that they wouldn't touch anything. I spliced the purple wire and the brown wire together and wrapped them with electrical tape. Then I reconnected the battery and she fired right up. I HAD to splice those two wires to get the engine to start. I did a search before I did this and a lot of info was for the remote start so you should be able to get the info that you need for the install. Good luck,
Tim
