Various Mods

Take a look at my few mods I have already and my planned mods for next week in my signature. Am I going the right way with my extensive mods I have listed. Should I be doing something else? Keep in mind, I'm not ready to tackle LT headers yet. I'll do that another time. Also, this is my daily driver, so I'm not ready for internal mods and I want good handling. Please advise.

Re: Various Mods

Looks like a decent list. If I were you I wouldn't worry about the AFPR, or the MSD 6A. You may not be ready for the LT install yet, but I would rather put that money towards a set of LT's so when you are ready you already have them. The other stuff you have listed should help alot. I think you should also look into some LCA relocation brackets...I just put some on my car and they seemed to have helped alot with traction, with no ill effects on handling. Good luck.

I agree with everything said here, there is no power to be gained from a regulator at this point, but if you plan on adding a larger fuel pump later you will need the regulator, and as far as the MSD, it has been said many times that ignition mods will only provide gains if your current ignition is not working well wnough. Money would be better spent on a tune up than on the MSD. Plus if you go with an LTCC or Delteq ignition later the MSD will be useless. Headers are one of the best mods you can do. CAI is good as well and other exhaust mods.

Re: Various Mods

Ok, you guys talked me into it! I ditched the AFPR and the 6A and ordered my coated, emissions legal Pacesetter LTs and ORY today! Based on my sig, what do you estimate I'll be putting down at the wheels when I'm done?

LT's are not smog legal! they relocate the cats. the cats have to stay in their stock locations.

Re: Various Mods

Sorry, what I meant was they have the emissions hookups. The fact I'm going with an ORY pretty much rules out "legal".

Re: Various Mods

Oh My God! You're not actually supposed to listen to me! Just kidding. You'll hate us when you're installing the headers but you'll be happy with them after they're on. Somewhere around 300 to the tires sounds right. The LTs are good for just about any engine combo you can put together too so they'll serve you well for quite some time. Before you buy any other mods I would recommend you sit down and think about where you want to go with the car. Decide on either FI, nitrous, or NA and make a plan and stick with it, having a plan will save you a lot of money down the road.

This man is very very wise!

Also if you're wanting to take your car to the track often and get some good numbers, don't forget to figure into your budget some good drag radials or slicks. All that power won't do you a bit of good if you can't make it hook.
