Question 1 cam question and 2 driving problem questions

Im putting a cam in my 95 Z28.. thing is it has 80 thousand well cared for miles.. I want a huge cam but i dont want heads..only doing a cam and then im done.. i have the factory LT4 1.6 RRs already installed on my car. Already have one im just going bigger. Which cam is the best one for accelleration... I want crazy horse power and nutso torque.Which is the cam to go with???.. not concerned with gas mileage at the moment.. I will when its installed but its not a concern right now... Second question- my car feels like its lost power.. and it has.. i lined up with a stock Z with an intake. i think it was a 1996.. and he kept up even with me and i mean dead even... I have K&N FIPK and MAC headers and Hooker cat back and not cats, tb bypass.., 160 thermo.. automatic fan switch, 1.6 RR, ported MAF, Air foil, !air, have yet to delete EGR(does it matter if i dont?), Feed tube block plate, MSD 8.5 wires(6 months old) New MGK plugs and MSd blaster coil W/ accel 300+ ign and LT1 edit... What is wrong with my car.. it all of a sudden lost power... WHAT GOING ON???? 3RD?- Im sitting around my house with nothing to do... Is there anything i can do to my car that doesnt cost anymoney?? Like for instance Cleaning the TB(sprying the stuff in it), or cleaning sumthing??????

No matter which cam you decide on.... you will most likely need to change valve springs to work with the higher lift.

This also a an area that can cause a loss of power.

If you want to really know what is going on, get a scanner/datalogger (ie. TTS Datamaster), learn how to use it and interpret the readings. You will then be in a perfect position to get any problems worked out.

The best advice I can give you is to observe what people are running and their mods. Look at the sigs where people like to post that stuff. I don't race my car and don't make a habit of giving advice on things I don't have firsthand experience with. I am running a cam, but I don't have any track times or dyno runs for reference. I don't trust the seat of my pants to tell HP gains. I am actually pretty gentle on my car compared to most people around here.

There are so many combinations that you could use, sometimes it is just a matter of personal preference.

The xe224/230 or cc305. Both should give you a 20-30rwhp gain with a dyno tune. Pcmforless has luck with a pretty accurate mail tune. You are def. going to need springs, locks, retainers, timing chain and gears. Pushrods and lifters wouldn't be a bad idea either. The driveability wouldn't be too bad with them. Check sig's see peoples dyno numbers and times. You'll find something you want.
