What install height will I need with a cc503 cam on the 10308-1 springs?I guess I will stay with these that are on the heads now.The height is set at 1.86 from what I measured.Think I should shim them a little? What shims should I get or does anything work good?

The stock timing set should work fine. However, if you're still concerned you can always go with the LT4 extreme duty timing set which will fit under the front cover without modification

What rockers do you plan on using? OH, and if you haven't thought of it yet, get an LT4 knock module for the computer. It's part number 16214681..at least it is on the OBD1 cars.

Crane recommends a height of 1.875" so you'll be fine. Besides, shimming reduces the installed height.

I plan on using stock rockers for now.I have noticed on my scan tool that my knock retard is in the negative by only a degree or two when under a light throttle.I dont think that is right.I always run premium fuel.I take it the LT4 knock sensor module is alot better for detecting knock, right?

Um, that's a hard one to answer. The LT4 knock module seems to filter out the frequencies that are related to roller rockers while still being able to act on the vibrations that are associated with real knock.

I recommend you make sure you can use the stock rockers with that cam. If the slot in the rocker isn't adequate for the lift, things can get bent and broken in a hurry. Truth be told, I'd recomend you don't bother with the stock rockers and go with a set of rollers.....

Use the money from the beehives for rockers, even GMPP ones would work good. You could use stock studs, and they would be self aligning to save some cash.

Are GMPP rockers good and reliable?I am on a budget and dont want to spend alot.I thought the stockers would work? Also,if I got roller rockers at a 1.6 ratio I would also haf to get taller valve covers.

GMPP roller rockers are the same ones that came with the LT4 engine and meet GM reliability standards. They're also the same sa the Crane gold rollers without being gold. No worries, they'll work fine.

You don't need taller rockers with 1.6 ratio rockers, they fit under the stock covers easily. You will have to mod the cover breather baffle on the PS because the rollers are much wider than stock. It's simple to do....
