Valvetrain advise

I am going from a GMPP Hotcam to a GM 847 cam in my 383. I alredy got the springs, locators and retainers wich are good for .700 lift and will have my heads machined to fit them in.

Will the GM PP 1.6 ratio SA roller rockers work with the 847 or is it necessary to change to non SA roller rockers and guideplates?

The lift with 1.6 rockers would be .575/.595

Re: Valvetrain advise

I havent heard a problem with SA but you will have a more stable set up with the NSA and guide plates for about the same price

Re: Valvetrain advise

Maximum recommended lift with the GMPP 1.6 RR is 0.575”. This is because the slots were slightly reduced for reinforcement over the regular crane gold rocker.
