What is the effective lift of the cc305 with 1.6 RR's? Also, will this setup pass emissions?

Here is a formula for ya!

lift/1.5 x 1.6 = lift with 1.6 ratio rockers

EX .510/1.5=.340 .340 x 1.6= .544 lift with 1.6 rockers

The 983 does not fit. This is a part of a mail from Comp:

The correct spring that needs to be used is our 981-16 valve spring. You will have to remove the damper from these, but they will fit over your stock locator. The catalog does list the 983 spring, but it will not fit your locator and I do not make one for the LT1 engine. The 981 spring can use the 742 retainer which is 7 degree or the 950 retainer which is 10 degrees.

I got the 983 and i had to let a mech shop make new locators to me.

cheeper/easyer than shipping it back from sweden.

Or you could just forget comp cams and go with a crane 10308- spring kit. It will accomodate up to a .600 lift and 7000 rpm. No maching of the heads is required. Comes with dual springs, retainers, valve locks and hardend shims to replace the factory seats for about $150.

I got the CC 986-16 dual valvesprings, they require the 4770-16 seats, 740-16 retainers, and 611-16 locks. The heads will have to be machined to fit the 1.625" seats but according the CC I needed this setup to support the 503 which maxes out at .510 lift, the 305 is about the same.

agree on that.

Just a little curios why comp doesnt change the online catalog? i asked them before i ordered the springes and they said thats the 983 were the one i should have. no machining.

a week later after i got them the new answer was 981

We don't have emissions ins SC...yet.

I don't live far from you, Pelzer on Hwy 8...people always come from Greenville that route during football season to get to Clemson...some Saturdays it's hell getting out of my driveway...lol.

I go to school at Clemson, but my car is registered in Maryland, thats why I was asking about emissions. I know what you mean about traffic on game days, but you got to love the Clemson fans.
