My LOW OIL light came on yesterday, so I checked my oil. It didn't seem to be that low, but the engine was hot. I checked it this morning and it was low. I haven't noticed any oil spots anywhere, but it could have leaked somewhere-the new engine only has 12,000 miles on it. I noticed some fresh oil spilled around the spout and on the passenger side valve cover. I didn't notice a lot however. I was thinking that it may be the valve cover gasket, or the O-ring on the spout (probably not). Could it be the intake leak? How could I be sure and how would I fix that if it is? What else could it possibly be leaking at? Thanks.

 

The valve covers could be too tight, causeing a little leakage, nothing big enough to notice on the ground, but they will leak if they are too tight.
