if you machine the stock seats in an LT1 head as large as they will go, a 2.00/1.56 will fit perfect and be sealing at the edge of the valve. When you use a 2.02/1.60 valve, you are placing it in the same seat so you are basically placing a slightly larger valve in front of the sae size hole. The 2.02/1.60's are not realy hurting any CFM but DEFINITELY not gaining any.

You can use 2.02/1.60's but the valve is sealing a little more on the back side of the valve. I have used 2.02/1.60's and 2.00/1.56's and never noticed a noticable diff in flow#'s or HP #'s. You do not have to worry about any seats falling out or things like that happening.

If you are gonna buy new valves any way, you might as well get the 2.00/1.56's but if you already have the 2.02/1.60's I would use them.

You are a little more limited on back cut's on the valve but that is the main difference.

Phil (Skarodom) made a comment on this a few days back. He said basically the same thing.

If youre using the stock size Chamber the 2.02s will actually hurt your low lift flow #s , but if you have a quick opening cam then you wont notice anything. If you pocket port the bowl to around 85% of the valve face area then put a good valvejob with it along with some unshrouding in the chamber youll notice more than just having the Valvejob done. I like the 30 deg top cut on a valvejob than the 45 deg. Nice #s grip , what cam are you using.
