I just received a GM847 cam in the mail and I have Crane 99893-16 springs on the way. I've already tried finding some recommendations on seat and open pressure, but I'm going to try again.

The 99893-16 @1.750 Installed height has 165lbs of Seat Pressure. The spring rate is 408lbs, (Summitt Specs), which works out to right at 408lbs open.

Installed @ 1.800 seat pressure is 145 and open pressure would be 388lbs.

Any recommendations. I've ordered hardened pushrods and I'm running Comp R lifters.

 

I think the pressure at 1.75" is excessive. I installed mine at 1.85" which is still a bit much for my needs.
